This is impressive for one evening. It was pretty enjoyable. The ending felt a bit weak, maybe because it trailed off. I would have loved to hear your live performers.. Too bad.
Good luck though!

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks Michael! Hope to see you in the contest next year.

I like some of your ideas, especially what you have going on at the beginning.
I know, and I'm sure you know that an intro sequence for a film wouldn't normally be 4 minutes long. It sounds to me like you crammed a few different ideas into this piece, and they don't all work together. Keep at it!

TheBenjerman responds:

Thanks. I'm not writing a regular intro sequence though, I wrote a main title sequence, a la any of the Spider Man movies, James Bond films, etc. (not the amazing spider man). The idea is to feed all of the major musical themes to the audience during the credits so they have something to latch onto later on. I definitely crammed a bunch of themes in there and if you think they don't work together I might have to work on my transitions. :/

4 minutes MIGHT be a tad long, but in my experience they range from about 3-5 minutes.

Thanks for the review!

I think I'll have to agree with SykeOne. Also, the samples you used/lack of velocity control makes it sound like you are banging on the piano, which is quite distracting. (I'm pretty sure the samples are to blame. I know that not everyone has a great library.)

It isn't too bad. Nice to see you trying something different!

Sequenced responds:

yeah I don't really have a good piano sample on me :C

Wow, so eerie! I just love the description you wrote. You are so creative.
By the end of this I could see robot zombies everywhere.

Pierceful responds:

ZOMBIES??! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo!

Good job. Very friendly and inviting. My only thing is that a lot of the reads are very similar. I'd like to hear even more energy, especially on the "long shot" commercial.

Keep up the great work!

Hahahaha. I forgot about this. I don't normally put loops up because people say "BLAM. MAKE IT LONGER!"

RiverK responds:

BLAM! WHO LOOPS AN ENTIRE SONG, I MEAN COME ON.

Amazing composition, Pierce! I can't wait to hear more.

Great stuff, JvM!

It sounds pretty muddy through my headphones. It's better through my speakers.
There are a lot of parts that just don't sound right, and the piece doesn't really evolve.
This sort of reminds me of an amoeba just wiggling around in a little tray, haha.

It's not your best work, but I like the comparison you made. Life is like that sometimes!

Ketzelkab responds:

I was kind of going for repetition in everything but the one guitar track.. I just kind of wanted to do some inane rambling on guitar that seems to go on for too long. I guess I succeeded lol but didn't consider that would effect the song as a whole poorly. #hindsight

Oh, this again!
Oh, no.
